I might just cop this album off the strength of this revelation:wow:

Last week, me and my Ace were talking about how we felt out of touch because Billboard top 10 was full of white disposable arts that not only did we not recognize, but also that we wouldn't try to get familiar with because they wouldn't be around for second chart topping singles.

I'm about to text her and tell her we were wrong.

At least partially.

Yeah they got a lot of that Euro-African/international pop vibe to them that you get out of mainstream Damian Marley songs or Akon. They cool, doing they thing. Them and T.I.N.A movement that Fuse ODG have been doing are taking over the charts internationally.

Kinda weird how in the US (and largely the world) people complain about white acts doing black music and taking over and yet you've got on the come up a new wave of African 1st or 2nd generation artists doing they thing. Dont know if they'll ever break in the US though

just goes to show what happens when the radio basically trains you to not pay attention.

I get exposed to Pop Radio cuz that's all my wife and kids listen to, what I've noticed is that 2014 has produced some pretty good pop songs. Well written, good production value and catchy. I've been blurting out the chorus to this song at the most random times of day for the past few months.

We missing out on some good music with good subject matter and the artists that we patronize are then in turn less inclined to make good music with good subject matter in an effort to please our close-minded asses  Aloe Blacc put out a dope album and a lot of black folks wrote it off as "white people" music. :snoop: So then what happens, white folks seize upon the opportunity to make radio friendly R&B pop music that kids can jam to cuz we too sexually charged up to use our creativity to make songs with a universal appeal.
