The average politician's grasp of these companies profit models, and how they function is way way too limited for them to even know how to draft policy that would reel them in.
Maybe once we start seeing younger elected officials who have private industry experience in working w/ these platforms more intimately, we'll see more thoughtful critiques + policy. But I would say we're still like 5-6 years away from that.
It's hard to even watch these for me because the questions from these officials are too elementary and ill-informed.
