(Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc founder Jeff Bezos' divorce from his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Bezos, was finalised by a Seattle-area judge on Friday, paving the way for her to receive $38.3 billion worth of Amazon stock, Bloomberg reported.

In April, Amazon, the world's biggest online retailer, said in a filing that 4% of its outstanding stock or 19.7 million shares would be registered in MacKenzie Bezos' name after court approval of the divorce.

The couple announced their plan to divorce in a joint Twitter statement in January, causing some to worry that Jeff Bezos could wind up with reduced Amazon voting power or that he or MacKenzie would liquidate large position.

He retains a 12% stake worth $114.8 billion and remains the world's richest person, Bloomberg said. MacKenzie Bezos has said she would give him voting control of her shares.

MacKenzie in May pledged to give half her fortune to charity to join the "Giving Pledge," a campaign announced by billionaire Warren Buffett and Microsoft Corp co-founder Bill Gates in 2010.

Number one because I like money.

Two, he's never going to get some regular azz woman to fool with him on the strength of his personality.

When you that wealthy it's always going to be about legal arrangements getting attorneys and protecting assets.

Three, the woman can't be that bad because she let him keep his voting interests in what she took from him.

Four, I'd rather just stick it out with her as opposed to trying to deal with someone new and questioning what they are about from a sincerity standpoint.

She probably still loves dude.

I don't know what went wrong, but she doesn't really seem like a bad woman. People give up way to fast when shyt starts getting hectic in life in my opinion.

The best thing a woman should do is not take back a cheater. Someone on Bezos level of wealth will continue to disrespect becaus he thinks his money can dictate the tone of relationship.

She is better off divorcing get her share she is entitled to as per the court and be amicable for the children.

No takebacks.
