This is what it looked like on the PCH this afternoon: between Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, and Santa Cruz.

Listened to nothing but ambient music during a more than two hour drive and chill.

1. Smiling Apart -- Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd (Album: Bordeaux)
This is from a little know collaboration album between Guthrie and Budd (their fifth, including the Cocteau Twins album mentioned below). Can't think of a better song for slowly wandering down an overcast PCH on a lazy Sunday afternoon. You can simply fall into space. Spotify is usually off a beat when it comes to recommending music, but they've been on point lately. On a related note, I'll be traveling to Bordeaux this summer for surf lessons. Maybe that's why this album popped up.

2. Memory Gongs -- Cocteau Twins (Album: The Moon and the Melodies)
Essentially from the same two artists; Robin Guthrie is the melodic heart of Cocteau Twins. They enjoyed working together so much that they've collaborated four times since. Again, perfect music for drifting into space.

3. DLP 4 & DLP 6-- William Basinski (Album: The Disintegration Loops)
This track works especially well for coastal drives. Played it into the ground over the past two years, unfortunately. If you're not up on the Disintegration Loops, a simple Google search is well worth the time. Probably the seminal ambient album of the last 25 years. Nothing I can, but these two tracks work really good on the PCH.
