Used to take one Sunday out the month and pay for one movie and stay all day.I miss those days when I would intimidate the teenage ticket checker at the front talmbout "aye man I dropped my keys. I gotta find them in the theater right quick."
"Oh ok sir go ahead."
*Proceed to theater hop and watch as many movies as a wanted.

People want to goto the movies. That experience pisses on streaming and we all know it. Same way people like eating at nice restaurants. What makes you so sure the movie theater industry as a whole isn't in trouble? What makes you think people still want to be in movie theaters?

Sure they do most people can't afford it though.

Sure. People are able to go to whatever theater chain they want, see any movie they want, but any snacks they want. If AMC fails, another will fill the void.Do you suspect that the movie industry would rake in tens of billions per year without the free market?
Something will replace them
People want to be in movie theaters. AMC has a clearly terrible business model.= if they can't ride this out.

Yea man. Your reply threw me off I addition to being not sober. No ill will.I didnt say without AMC, I said without the free market....
I guess I was assuming your original comment was a sarcastic criticism of capitalism. Now I dont know what the hell you're talking about so....carry on...

It's the hit in vending and concession sales that movie theaters are gonna be sweating. Imagine justifying charging $20 for a 10oz soda and a hot dog post-COVID.
