AMD processors will always be weaker than Intel. Everyone knows this. But I always buy AMD processors anyway due to affordability. Also gaming consoles typically use AMD stuff because it's cheaper.

Exactly, the gulf in R&D is huge, literally impossible to compete.

Games are increasingly becoming multithreaded thanks to consoles. Streaming is also great when you can offload it to other cores. Only redeeming feature of amd CPUs ATM.

the thing is the games need to be scalable within a reasonable range. you can't expect a game to fully utilize a 8-core (intel) CPU, while also being able to run on a 4-core i5

If AMD delivers then intel will lower prices and or put out better cpus in the future
Let's be honest the Intel cpus been the same for at least 5 years+
