It just hit me where this country may be headed. It's going be a country/playground for rich people ONLY.

With AI and robots there won't be a need for low or middle class. We would just be a problem when 99% of jobs are gone in 10 years (which is what's predicted).

I was wondering how it would be handled. If UBI would be given and how life would be. But I just cant see this country GIVING 300 million people a monthly check to just sit around. It's not in the dna of this country.

The solution: make everything high af, while not having jobs at the sane time. This will result in americans "fleeing our country" for another more affordable country. Similar to what fba/ados laugh at current immigrants about now.

I can forsee people flocking to Africa now.

If this country moves in the direction it's headed, where there will be no middle class and they won't have a need for millions of free poor people. In such a environment what other option would you have? You'd have to relocate to one of these countries that still allow humans to work.

If you find it necessary to relocate to one of those countries, they may remember we kicked them out with glee.

Rich isn't just physical dollars. It's having assets. I've come to the conclusion a few years ago, this new rich wants power. Once money stops circulating, it's about who has power. Farms, raw materials, access to everyone's data, military and manufacturing control, control of the money that IS circulating. I keep saying UBI is not a solution we want because there are going to be some high stipulations if it comes in in this new world order.

My worst case scenario for this new future we're moving into is, I don't think they're gonna deport FBA's, I think for the things that aren't easily automated, they just have people in prison camps do that work. The rich doesn't really like investing in tech that will benefit everyone so I don't think they are going to go the route of automating everything for societal use. And while they'll be in these super ostentatious enclaves in and around the city, everyone else will be in favelas or nomads. We've seen this in South America and Africa already.

The rich have thought further along on this than anyone, especially the government... they can't think outside of 2 year cycles. This is why they all have doomsday bunkers. Like ALL of them...

We'll all be broke yet have the resources to relocate to Africa?

I'll be honest I think the majority us going down with the ship rather than flee. But it won't be out of patriotism.

Its been done before. Its not a radical reality.

In our final form, We may transition back into Rome where 90% of the population was unemployed because slaves did everything for rich people and the rich people traded with themselves . The rich only needed the poor to be soldiers in pursuit of more riches.

This was due to slavery, which is a direct parallel to the utility AI brings to the wealthy corporations.

In Rome, slavery basically made the general public irrelevant in society. The biggest buyers of items ended up being other rich people with their own company of enslaved people producing wealth for themselves. So one noble would have a vineyard operated entirely by slaves. Another noble would have a quarry for marble operated entirely by slaves. If one of them wanted wine, and the other one wanted some new pillars for their mannor home, they would trade. Joe Maximus schmoe , the peasant, was completely cut out from these transactions. And the government itself would tax the rich people and do business with them.

In a modern sense, the future governments would give out cheese to the public to keep them from revolting. And gov will tax The billionaires and Icorporations while also subcontracting to them to get stuff like Amazon web services. The billionaires in turn would trade with each other, whether they want fancy cars, fancy software, or more productivity equipment for their slave labor (AI)

I suspect that most of the trade in the future will be B2B, not B2C like it is these days. I say this because different automation companies must specialize. Open AI will be specializing in automating speech, but they'll need another corporation specializing in automating construction work or automating network infrastructure in order to keep growing. Similarly a corporation that automates agriculture, would need another corporation to automate its accounting. So a lot of B2B AI transactions will occur

I suspect the challenge for the few of us still living in the free world before AI does everything, willl have the task of acquiring enough wealth to have our own automation and our own land so that we don't become one of the many peasants in New Rome living on a handouts.

The plan is to build up enough wealth so you won't need to rely on a job. The only thing I'm really worried about is taxes. Because who knows how high they'll get in the West. That's probably the only thing that can get me to leave.

Unless I see more Africans returning to the Continent to live. I wouldn't even consider it with all the other possible destination globally. Those in the West returning have to be the ones to return first.
