asking people to name a city is Africa is a pretty weird question. When you start with a continent most people are going to naturally filter down to countries. If you said name a city in Asia most people will blurt out Japan or something.

It's sad. Accra, Lagos, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Nairobi, Cairo, Aswan, Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Addis Abbaba. Mad easy.
The average person thinks Africa is a damn country to begin with and has no grasp on the size of Africa, so this doesn’t surprise me a bit.
