The U.S. needs a dumb population and sell them lies. Kinda like giving White-Americans false hope and lying to them/telling them they are better than minorities. It's easier to control "ignorant" people. That's why you have people like Trump saying, "I LOVE the poorly educated".

There are tons of affordable community colleges and programs to help you pay for college if you look hard enough.

We complain about every fukking thing. If they made every school free today, tomorrow there will be a post complaining that the classes are too hard. Then a post complaining that there are too many students and not enough teachers. Then a post complaining that the books are too expensive.....etc

Supply and demand.

They'd likely have to even further raise the admission standards for the better schools. I also imagine the private schools would still charge. But that would suck for private HBCUs. Nobody would go there anymore.
