damn i've ridden the amtrak cascades, start to finish actually. it's a beautiful route. when i was at ucla i went to an oregon game and this asian ting i was with was like we need to ride the cascades up to vancouver and i was like aiight. oh to be young with no responsibilities.

The official said because the tracks were new it was unlikely to be a maintenance issue.
