Yeah she was thick when she first came out with her debut album "Frank". If you watch the video "fukk (Forget) Me Pumps" and compare it to images of her during her cocaine-downfall, and the contrast is crazy.

She was real soulful when she first came out, but didn't really get as much exposure as she should have at the time. But yeah, I think she was looking real good body-wise back then.
