Anaconda was another movie swagger jacking Jaws with the same formula, however it did have some cool moments and the bad guy was perfect in his role being the piece of shyt.

This already looks like it's gonna be a comedy rather than a movie that's made to scare you.

i saw the original in 1997 in the theater and the crowd loved it. It had a good cast too with Ice Cube, J Lo, Owen Wilson, Jon Voight etc. All the Anaconda kills were pretty good. This is a different way to do the concept but "Anaconda" works as more as a horror/suspense. They are making this look a little too goofy to be scary. I like the effects though. I don't know why Hollywood like to complicate things. Put an elite team in the jungle and have a new anaconda. Make it action packed but also scary. It's not hard. But clearly it's a reboot and they are going for a different tone. I think all the sequels went straight to video:
