So many race threads anyway thought I'd make one myself.

I am so curious about my Ancestry but my parents don't give a shyt. The commercials usually have white people with ancestors who did shyt. One time a black guy who was like "Yeahh I'm black so my granddaddy was probably a slave" but he finds out he was a businessman who bought his freedom. So blacks can use it too right?

Has any of you used it? What did you find?

I'm fukking lightskinned I know I'm half Asian but my dad was lightskinned too. What if someone was raped by a slave master? I don't want to know that shyt would be traumatic. This shyt isn't fair.

honestly I thought the same exact thing. I'm not white so none of my family history would be on there.

now if they had a Caribbean version of this, then maybe I'd have a chance...it'd be interesting to see my family history.

So how do these sites work if you dont even know the girl who gave birth to you name and she never knew the name of the guy who fukked her ?? im just shyt out of luck on these sites ??

Yeah you can use it being Black, but you're not going to go back but so far. I was able to go back as far as my great, great grandfather. They mostly use documents such as the census, and death and birth certificates. I was able to find my family in the 1920, 30, and 40 census. I also seen my g, g, grandfather's death certificate he was born in between 1860 and 1870 died in 1934. He owned quite a bit of land, and had a sizable home ( we still own that land) There are no pics like the commercials leads you to think. It can be very interesting, just dont get too excited because like I said, you can't go but so far back being black.
