I fear that really is what they want from black folks now. They want us to revolt so we can be considered enemy of the state and domestic terrorists.
And this is why what I said about Mike Brown still stands. This society needs black people to be "thugs" and "criminal" somehow otherwise they'd have to face some uncomfortable truths about race, racism, and the injustices committed by the police department. No matter how innocent, no matter how much of an overachiever, no matter how far away from the "thug" label a black person is...the greater society will try to justify this somehow someway. This kid was an honor roll student. But...because he held his peace sign up in a selfie at a slightly 90 degree angle, he can be deemed a "thug" who somehow "deserved it" and needed to "pull his pants up" and "stay out of trouble".
Man...this is infuriating. A white kid can blast 17 innocent people to bits in a movie theater and be seen as an honest kid who would never do anything wrong even though he was stockpiling more weapons than a militia...while we got to be seen as damn near PERFECT to even be seen with a fragment of humanity in the eyes of law enforcement officials.
