Because culture wars only work when the majority buys into it. Middle America don't have enough people for that. And through media, film, music and more, the entire nation's become more tolerant to virtually everything. The book banning shyt back fired because even suburban mom's sat back and said "wtf my kid SHOULD learn about Slavery/Holocaust."

But more than that, they TRULY underestimated women (understatement of the century I know).
Imagine if the GOP came out and said "we are banning black people, latinos, gays and people making under $100k a year from going to the doctor."

The backlash would be swift and violent. Going after Roe turned even moderate women against them, combine that with liberal women and women of color and you have arguably the largest voting bloc in the country against you.

Yeah, I don't engage with people like that. Acting as if Republican takeover doesn't have consequences that negatively impact the lives of millions, just based on the complete disregard for others, I see no reason to engage with people like that. They don't even argue in good faith, and definitely know fukk all about how politics/government functions and political history in America.

We'll see. The radical wing of the Dems have been shockingly on code the past year. And with an additional seat in the senate, potentially two, the power of Manchin and Kirsten Synema is significantly reduced. They can push legislation without those two. The house is the interesting beast. Mostly because the GOP now has to worry about both ends mucking up the process, the moderate wing and the Freedom Caucus.

Is basically the issue that the Dems had in the last two years, where the moderates held up everything. Its gonna be a mess still, but keeping the Senate was HUGE for the left.
