Andre played a good Jimi - not Joaquin Phoenix level Johnny Cash or Jamie Foxx level Ray - but good. The music was a huge stumbling block for me. The phone beating scene was pretty much fiction from what I can tell. Kinda bummed they didn't cover stuff like Woodstock and the time he spent living in NY. They did a pretty good job of making Clapton look like the bytch he is. They should have got at Pete Townshend too

Ruth Negga though:whew:

Ruth Negga is the truth, I'd love to experience her.:ahh:

Here's my post from another thread.

Even though I knew it didn't have any of the music, I checked it out, because of my Jimi and Andre standum. I was disappointed. The cinematography sucked donkey dikk. Most of the characters weren't developed well, nor did any of the storylines get wrapped up. I think Stacks acting was good, I think.. My love for his music might be clouding my judgment.

I will say I think Stacks was a way better candidate for playing Jimi than Papa Doc, but that's what Jimi people want, so I'll be waiting for their movie. It better be good.:francis:
