Yeah it's immigrants. Not massive corruption. :mjlol:
This comment makes no sense.

Corruption has nothing to do with ...illegal immigrants.

Remember. You had illegals on debate stages asking politicians to make pledges not to deport them for breaking the law.

Its on its face, ridiculous.

The Democrats’ current position seems to be that the Dreamer parents who broke the law are near heroes, indistinguishable from the children they brought with them; and their rhetoric is very hard to distinguish, certainly for most swing voters, from a belief in open borders. In fact, the Democrats increasingly seem to suggest that any kind of distinction between citizens and noncitizens is somehow racist.
quoted for emphasis

the left's position on immigration is embarrassing :scusthov:

Dems still holding strong on this(and almost every other major issue) despite literally losing every branch of govt... interesting:jbhmm: Its as if they don't want to win.

The Dems lost by their worst ground mostly in states experiencing the most minimal immigration surges and had the biggest pluses over 2012 in boom town immigration states (Georgia, TX, and Arizona for instance) immigration rates are also starting to slow at a pretty noticeable pace, not sure this will be a huge issue in 18 and 20.

doesn't matter because you still have tens of millions of them in the country making noise. Its not even about who is crossing the border anymore. Its about the ones that are here.

It’s what made the Democrats lose in 2016

No it wasn't. :mjlol:

The total number of illegal immigrants in the nation had gone DOWN since Obama came into office, meaning that the net illegal immigration was negative. And the vast majority of Trump voters ain't got a life with any significant number of immigrants in it anyway.

Railing on immigrants is just dog-whistle politics for people butthurt about not having an all-White society anymore, along with a nice excuse for those who lose their jobs to be able to blame something other than their own skills or the corporations themselves for that.

If various people butthurt about economic problems and White nationalism didn't have (declining) immigration to complain about, they would have found something else easily. :yeshrug:

supporting gay rights hurts the democrats as well. where is that article andrew sullivan.

he even points out that the democrats didn't get any credit for obama's immigration policy (deport and don't strut around saying yeah boy i kicked them bytches out), just a lot of backlash from the people who are likely to vote for them. so what are they to do if they don't gain any support from being tough on immigration and only lose support (or enthusiasm ... and not voting is just as bad for them as voting for the republican) when they get tough? they don't gain white working class support because that's just one of many issues that are deal breakers for them. you fix that issue and they'll say what about gay people, what about abortion, what about affirmative action, what about law enforcement, what about patriotism, what about muslims, what about, what about?

No one cares about net immigration.

Optics is everything

Fact is, they're SITLL coming.

The fact that the "net" is down doesn't change that theres still a lot of illegals making a lot of noise.

I don’t think the number of immigrants is relevant it’s the policies that are essentially open border policies that is the issue

Anti immigration sentiments are definitely attached to racism but it’s not that straightforward because the voters that made Hillary lose are white Obama voters who flipped

Also what I think people have a hard time wrapping their head around is that there are significant amounts of blacks and hispanics that do not support open immigration and without the enthusiastic support of minorities democrats can’t win

If Democrats were running by making gay rights their number one issue everybody would recognize that it would be stupid but for some reason people believe that running on immigration is a winning issue for Democrats

For example right now DACA is the Democrats main issue and in HL

The significance of this article, and I’ve posted similar articles, is that immigration is a net negative

But Democrats believe that it’s a net plus since it only triggers blatant racists

But in fact it triggers other groups like white Obama’s voters and minorities also, that's why it’s a net negative

So that’s the bottom line, it’s that Democrats should realize that it’s a net negative as opposed to an issue that will lead to a permenant democratic majority which is the current assumption

Trump's daily vortex of insanity is the main issue for both right now.:camby:

When Pelosi and Schumer met with trump they discussed daca, although now the latest pandering to Hispanics is Puerto Rico

But in 2020 they will be expecting black people to come out enthusiastically for the dem nominee

Do you not realize how flawed it is, on its face, to have illegal immigrants be the face of a political campaign?

It comes off to the layman as you're supporting illegality. Literally.

This is way worse than any willy Horton ad.

Yall talk about optics so much but refuse to acknowledge these things.

It works both ways.
