Android users who have google play music please help

Basically every song/album that I downloaded from the play music app that I pay for no longer works. It doesn't play them and just skips to the illegally downloaded music that is on there. So the majority of my music can't be played.

I paid my bill so it can't be that

I can't delete everything and start again it will take weeks. I'm pissed. Has this happened to anybody else before?

I hadn't enabled sync or something like that. A message just came up and once I enabled the sync I could play all my music again.
