The hacker group Anonymous released a Tweet over the weekend stating that they had received leaked information that Darren Wilson will not be indicted by the grand jury for the death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Today, they released a report containing information about Darren Wilson’s current alias, appearance and location. Anonymous stated in Tweets from their Operation Ferguson Twitter account that they had the information for some time, but were waiting for absolute confirmation of the information’s validity.
Anonymous claims that sources within the local police department have confirmed that the grand jury decision will be announced November 10th and that the National Guard and area police departments have been put on notice to be prepared for significant civil unrest and possible implementation of martial law due to the no indictment. The report also states that Wilson will not face any criminal charges or legal action from state or federal authorities, which means any hope for accountability for his actions on a criminal level are gone.
Darren Wilson has also been allegedly spotted at a Blues game in St. Louis. He has also supposedly been made aware of the decisions by the Grand Jury and the Department of Justice to not indict or charge him. As the report states, he “is nos comfortable enough that he has just closed purchase on a new home in the south county area.” He also has allegedly conceived a child with his live in girlfriend while on paid administrative leave.
In an attempt to hide his identity, he has allegedly altered his appearance by changing both his hairline and hair color and also growing a beard. He has allegedly been using the alias “Darren Obrien.” Anonymous has stated that as more information becomes available, the report will be updated. They have also made a call for people to come to St. Louis and join them in protesting Darren Wilson not being held accountable for what they feel was the murder of Michael Brown.
Anonymous considers themselves hacktivists. In other words they are hackers who hack computers and systems with the goal of being activists who support causes against those who oppress or hurt a person or people. They consider each individual cause an operation, and the actions related to the death of Michael Brown have been named Operation Ferguson.
