For some reason we are addicted to these "get out of the gutter", "I came out the mud" stories. Nobody hates Black Generational Wealth like more than other Black people. Sad

It's not about hating on black generational wealth. It's about hating these lames who don't want to act like they come from money or want to project the image that they didn't have help. Dudes raised in Carlton type households but want to be them dudes that beat up Will type shyt. Your dad's a pastor and mom's a church lady but you're throwing up forks :palm:

I don't take that away from the video. What I took away from the video is that Regis feels that Devin's background and upbringing doesn't match his boxing persona. I'm assuming he means the street gear and chains. And the fact that he didnt have anything passed down to him, makes Regis feel he is more hungry.

Didn't Jamorant do the same thing? I don't see nothing wrong with Devin's image but Regris has all the right to question if it's legitimate.

like russell wilson.
Can't have it both ways.
This is what happens when poverty culture gets conflated with black culture.

It also seems this only happens in sports and entertainment. People don't seem to levy these problems with Neil DeGrasse Tyson or Marquees Brownlee.

Honestly this is why it’s best to focus on people who see the vision on how you see fits. I stopped looking at black folks as a collective to save because there seems to be too many lost causes. I’ve opened myself to like minded individuals and it could be any race of individuals. Just because I share the same skin colour as you I can’t expect you to have the same thinking.

It affects them too,
they often have to live a more intergrated lifestyle the average black person because their isn't as much of a community with the sciencey tech black crowd as there is with the hood crowd
You will more likely see them with mixed friend groups and white spouses as a result

but more than that even he still tried to adopt the appearance of a someone that fit in more with people in the blue collar black community than his peers in the science community when he was young. there wasn't any astrophysicists dressing like this in grad school outside of him. he took that from outside his peer group.

How many black people are actually raised in Carlton type households though? But you are right in the fact that cats need to stop being ashamed of having help. That's the whole fukking point of your parents having to grind and make it. It's so your children don't have to struggle. We so backwards at times it's ridiculous :why: . Cacs have ZERO problem tellin mufukkaz how their parents/grandparents left this, that, and the 3rd to them so they can start off their adult lives with something. But us? :snoop: . It's insecurity like a mufukka. Too much "we black, we supposed to be poor" ass mentality nikkaz out here. You not black enough if you weren't broke type shyt. Bozo shyt.

But there are a lot of upper middle class black families now. shyt, I know my sons are growing up as upper middle class nikkas. And we live in an area with a lot of similar type black families too. Know better, do better. But stop being ashamed of having some advantages. That's what your parents worked for nikkaz! And if they didn't, you do it so your kids don't!

Your dad's a pastor and mom's a church lady but you're throwing up forks :palm:

Beyond stupid and retarded. Looking goofy as hell. Hate seeing kids in my area do it. Thankfully those types are few and far between because the parents know better.
