I'm tired of this negative ass narrative that we kick our kids out after they get out of high school. I personally don't know anybody who moms kicked them out or made them start paying bills once they was grown or else

They always trying to make us look like our people don't give a fukk about us. Now I can understand if our Grandparents was on that shyt back when you could drop out of school and still get a good job. Why are we known for shytting on our kids?

Being pushed out is one of those things that waned over time, though because it was a prevalent practice it still has remants. But it was a thing and my mother talked about this more than once.

Now young adults still at home paying bills is absolutely still strong with us. It's faded some but not to the degree of kicking out.

Ok I figured that was more of a back in the day thing. Which is kinda wild when you think about it because conditions was alot worse for us back then so why throw your kids to the wolves.

t-dot till they bury me
I was kicked out at 18 when they found out I was (male) stripping

I'd get hella tips from :flabbynsick: women when Sussudio played :manny:

Whenever he sang, "She's all I need..." i'd pelvic thrust and get singles thrown at me :skip: :to:

What's wrong with pushing grown kids to be more grown, tho? You should want to leave.

And if you're sane, you probably want your privacy back, at least to a certain extent. Kids should be ready to leave whether it's a dorm or a lil apartment at 18. Especially since they still getting healthcare in many cases.

I don't see a problem with pushing them out especially if they still have the option to come back home.

Edit: now demanding they leave is some shyt I've never seen personally.

You have to remember people had more kids. There's 8 years between my mother and my next aunt and for those 8 years in the projects of 60s Brooklyn, 4 kids was a below average family.

When you're 18 and got 5 siblings behind you, and unlike today you can keep a roof over your head working at McDonald's, you gotta go. If not, you paying bills.

I think it was something more prevalent with older generations. Don’t hear much of that anymore. I wasn’t necessarily kicked out, but there was always a lot of if you don’t like it you can leave talk until I finally just left. Funny part is the day I said aight bet then I’m gone my mom hit the
:whoa:. That card had been played too much though for me and it didn’t feel good to hear.

I look on the flip side at my wife and her siblings that were really nurtured and allowed to stay as long as they wanted/needed and how it put them all in a much better place in life instead of having to start out scraping for everything.
