The profit/loss situation a few weeks ago was hilarious, so let's try our hand at this one...

This gonna be good

READ the question carefully Coli akademiks

Statement 1: 1 rabbit saw 6 elephants while going to the river. Note that the rabbit is going to the river and not the elephants. So it's 1 animal so far.

Statement 2: Every elephant saw 2 monkeys going to the river. Now while it doesn't state SAME or DIFFERENT 2 monkeys, it is more implicit that it's the same monkeys. All 6 elephants saw 2 monkeys heading to the river. So it's 2 more animals going to the river.

Statement 3: Every monkey holds 1 parrot in their hands. Now if it said in EACH of their hands, it would be 1 parrot per hand and therefore 2 parrots per monkey. But it's 1 parrot in their collective hands. 1 parrot per monkey. 2 monkeys, 2 parrots. Since the monkeys are going to the river, and parrots are in their hands, logically speaking, parrots are also going to the river. That's 2 more animals going to the river.

QUESTION:
How many animals are going towards the river?

1 rabbit + 2 monkeys + 2 parrots = 5 animals

note: the 'to' and 'towards' conundrum is nothing but trickery to attempt to throw you off. It's the same thing in this context.

Are the elephants going to the river? It says the rabbit saw them while going towards the river but doesn't say if the elephants are going or coming or passing from the river. But all the other animals it does say specifically they're going towards the river. Do you have the actual answer op? That's just 5 animals.

I got my answer by excluding the elephants than it was 1 rabbit plus 2 monkeys(who both had 1 parrot therehand.)

Edit nah I had it right the first time I going with 5 again.

The elephants aren't going anywhere right? They only saw 2 monkeys each(total?) going to the river. So only the rabbit, the monkeys and the parrots in each monkeys hand is going to the river?

ETA

5 I guess?

1 rabbit
2 monkeys
2 parrots

Or

1 rabbit
12 monkeys
12 parrots

Kinda depends on how pedantic you want to be.
1 rabbit going to the river, 12 monkeys (assuming they're unique pairs) going towards the river, 12 parrots since each monkey has one. That could be 25 animals going towards the river, or 24 if you don't count the rabbit as going towards the river (to vs towards), or 12 if you don't count the parrots as going towards the river.

If the elephants saw the same pair of monkeys then only the rabbit, 2 monkeys, and 2 parrots are going towards the river - but the pedantry can occur again here.

Edit: The monkeys can also be holding the same parrot, both with both hands on it.

Most of these aren't questions of do you know math, they're questions of can you follow some a$$hole's logic when they don't properly explain the problem.
