Also, the 2nd Amendment says NOTHING about 'private/citizen militias'..... which is how those arguing against gun control have succeeded in 'reinterpreting' it.

Go read the Federalist and Antifederalists papers. The intent behind the 2nd Amendment is pretty clear. There are dozens of writings from that time showing why the amendment was added written by the same people that wrote the constitution

the breh's falling into the trap of thinking that "well regulated" means "supervised by government regulators." when the bill of rights was written, this meaning of the word wasn't part of the english language, the only meaning was "balanced/in good working order," like "a well regulated breakfast." there's been plenty of analysis on this, search google scholar or w/e for "prefatory clause."

it always trips me out that ppl think the 13th abolished slavery when it really enshrined it for a certain class of people, this amendment needs rewriting to totally abolish it. while we're at it the 2nd needs rewriting too to make NFA '34, GCA '68, FOPA '86, etc. all facially unconstitutional.

Haven’t looked at the video but I’ve always interpreted the 2nd amendment in relation to the Revolutionary War, meaning that private citizens need access to arms to supplant an existing military force to protect the state.

Not for personal or domestic use.
