I have a JA Henckels chef's knife, and it's great.

But I kinda wish I had a Bob Kramer knife.
Those things are beautiful. But Kramer knives cost upwards of $300.

:whew:

I was just thinking about buying a new chef knife. I bought a JA set from Kohls a year ago but those carbon steel Japanese knives are calling my name.:ohlawd:

People say they're amazing and really hold an edge.
Only thing is, the carbon steel blades tend to rust, so you have to wipe them dry after washing.

I'm fine with my chef's knife.
But this would be a nice luxury

One of these days I'm gonna get one of those knives. But not anytime soon.

I need a reliable knife. This probably out of my price range, but I'm subbing for later.

Definitely don't need to go that expensive.

The Victorinox Fibrox Chef's Knife is widely considered the best affordable chef's knife on the market and Amazon sells it for anywhere between $30 and $40.

Currently $33.

Yeah it's definitely a luxury item.
If you work in a kitchen for 10, 12 hours a day and you want something sharp that is comfortable in the hand....I guess it's worth considering.

But $300-$400+ (depending on the knife) is a little insane.

I recently spent $100 on an All-Clad roasting pan for Thanksgiving and even that hurt to spend. But it's pretty damn good quality and should last for years.
I don't know what kind of person would spend $200+ on a Mauviel pan

Sorry for this cookware nerding out

:mjcry:
