When "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" comes out, I'm the lead. When "Snowpiercer" comes out, you're the lead. We have the power and the ability to ask those questions. It really bothered me that I've done seven Marvel movies where every producer, every director, every stunt person, every costume designer, every PA, every single person has been white.

The Marvel actor then commented on his thoughts about Black Panther's mostly Black production team, saying:

But then when you do "Black Panther," you have a Black director, Black producer, you have a Black costume designer, you have a Black stunt choreographer. And I'm like, that's more racist than anything else. Because if you only can hire the Black people for the Black movie, are you saying they're not good enough when you have a mostly white cast?

He's correct.

What he's saying shouldn't be misinterpreted as some "reverse-racism" bullshyt; he's not saying white people should've been hired in those positions for black panther, he's saying how come it took a black panther movie for those positions to be filled by black people?

I agree. Black directors, producers, costume designers, etc should be getting work for all movies, not just for the "oh well this one is for the negroes" type flicks.

Only thing I take issue with in Mackie's statement is that the stunt coordinator for BP was the guy from John Wick and that dude is white.

So it's not even like all the jobs on BP went to black people, that was a very mixed production. It's just seen as remarkable because so many of the top production gigs went to black folks.

Thread would've been platinum status by now had it been posted in TLR.

I can already see the usual CaC incel comic book movie/geek Youtube channels taking what hes saying and twisting it as him slamming the woke PC brigade and applauding him while simulatenously the blativity blue checks on twitter cancelling while not reading the full quote

Should be fun and unproductive

The fight coordinator was the dude from iron fist. he was also white, and the fight and stunt coordination were the weakest parts of the entire film if we're being honest.
