If one of my employee's calls out sick and i fire them. i can get sued for wrongful termination.
Why isn't that the case in sports? you'd think a players union would have that set in stone like most other unions

You likely couldn’t though. They would have to prove the firing was discriminatory or retaliatory in nature, which be real hard to prove without some type of hard evidence or documentation by the employee. In most scenarios, you can call in sick to a job, and the job can say, we decided to go a different direction, and we letting you go; you will have no legal recourse at all.

The job would have to come with another reason though, they couldn't publicly say i got fired because i was sick or disabled. They have be like, he was laid off due to performance issues or some bs.

That blow to the skull from Burfict scrambled his brains. Looked like his neck was broken. Guarantee they examine his brain and it looks like swiss cheese.

They actually could say you got fired caused he was sick and unavailable. They couldn’t say you got fired because of a specific disability though. And if they did fire you because of that, HR always gonna be savvy enough to word the termination right because they know employment law. Where they fukk up at is if they are sloppy leading up to it and you catch them or your manager saying certain shyt that proves they fired you specifically for a disability and you document it. Or if you have a direct comparator…Someone in the same exact scenario that didn’t get fired.

But even then, they have to be different from you to prove discrimination. For example, a white man or a black women. You can claim discrimination based on race or gender. But say it’s another black man just like you, then it will be more difficult to prove discrimination.

The other way you can sue, which is even harder to prove is you got retaliated against by being fired. I know all this stuff because I actually sued my job and won a few years ago and had to use retaliation. I had a lot of documentation but no hardcore proof. But I had so much circumstantial evidence from documentation and caught them in flat out lies so they had to settle with me.

During this process I learned how hard it is to sue your job and how the law set up in the jobs favor. And a settlement is the best you can hope for. You really only get settlements when you have a case they can’t get dismissed immediately and would have to spend money going to court for a while. Because almost none of these make it to trial. Like less than 1% I think

Thats not the same thing at all.

if your employee shows negative behavior that affects the rest of your employees, you’re gonna let them go.

At the end of the day, its professional sports, not football. Moreover, I’m positive their union could of salvaged his job if he was fired on the field before walking off. But the moment you take off your pads and walk across the field during a game its a wrap. Thats not gonna fly anywhere.

So does Adrien as of late, he won his last fight ...I called him the ab of football because of the fukkery

That was a gift though. :mjlol: He clearly lost that fight. Two of the judges gave him the first round and he didn't land one punch. That fight was clearly fixed.
