the dude he shot at is the same guy who held up the Palestinian flag during the Kendrick SB halftime show

A performer at Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX halftime show in February has been arrested after holding up a Sudanese flag there with the message "Sudan and Free Gaza," Louisiana State Police announced Thursday.

The performer, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, 41, of New Orleans surrendered to authorities after an arrest warrant was obtained, state police said. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by interruption of a lawful assembly.

State police say troopers began investigating shortly after the Feb. 9 game at the Caesars Superdome and found that Nantambu "deviated from his assigned role" and disrupted the halftime show by running across the field with the flag. Security and law enforcement personnel ran after him, and he refused to comply with their commands to stop, state police said in a statement Thursday.

"In coordination with the National Football League, troopers learned that Nantambu had permission to be on the field during the performance, but did not have permission to demonstrate as he did," state police said.

Neither jail records nor online court records list a lawyer for Nantambu who could be reached for comment.

The arrest comes after New Orleans police said shortly after the football game at Caesars Superdome that the cast member would not face charges. But it was Louisiana State Police who announced the charges Thursday.

New Orleans police initially responded to the disturbance, but Louisiana State Police then took over the investigation, partly due to the performer's access to a highly secured area, Louisiana State Police Sgt. Katharine Stegall said in an email to The Associated Press.

The NFL on Thursday said it commends the Louisiana State Police for "its diligence and professionalism."

"We take any attempt to disrupt any part of an NFL game, including the halftime show, very seriously and are pleased this individual will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law," the NFL said. "In addition to the ongoing criminal case, the NFL banned the individual from attending any NFL games or events."

The cast member was among dozens of dancers wearing black outfits. He held the flag in the air while standing on the roof of a car that was a main feature of the hip-hop artist's performance. He then jumped off stage and ran across the field before being tackled by several men in suits.

President Donald Trump was in the stadium for the game, but it wasn't clear whether he saw the protest.

In a separate case, Nantambu is listed as the victim of a May 17 shooting outside a celebrity boxing event in Miami.

Former NFL player Antonio Brown is facing an attempted murder charge after authorities say he grabbed a handgun from a security worker at the boxing event and fired two shots at Nantambu. Nantambu told investigators that one of the bullets grazed his neck.

If he doesn't need the attention, there are plenty of places he could go where no one would recognize him. Hector and Juan in Costa Rica don't give a f*ck about the NFL.

Now if he gets recognized, that's a completely different story.

I will tell you more.

Ideally, moves have been made beforehand. As a multi-millionaire you should already have cash on hand just in case. And you should also have money in an accessible foreign account.

However, if no preparations were made then things get considerably more difficult. You could try and take the cash on a commercial flight but that wouldn't be advisable. You could charter a private jet for around $50K and give yourself a better chance at moving with the money. You can take a train, you can take a bus, there are lots of alternatives. And moving between countries using cash in a place like South America, is not as difficult as you might think.

Also let me be clear. If the US is dedicated to tracking you down, you will get tracked down. But AB's charges aren't that serious. And if you can lay low with access to large sums of cash you can live a good life.

Personally, the reason I'm taking the chance is because once you turn yourself in, you're at the mercy of the court and the judicial system, which has shown it will f*ck over a black man with the quickness. If I go on the run and go to South America and they end up catching me, I have to eat those extra years. But I'll take that chance over turning MYSELF in and possibly catching a 15+ year sentence.

And don't let me find somebody that makes quality forged documents. You will never see me again.

1. He needs the attention. There is a ZERO percent chance he wouldn’t want attention overseas.

2. This isn’t the 1950’s where you can just disappear overseas with no trace. He’s a high profile athlete in the U.S. and is clearly prone to making idiotic decisions. He’s not disappearing to some Indonesian island. And, if he was, he’d be dumb enough to smuggle drugs there and get sentenced to life at best.

3. You really think fleeing the country with a warrant for attempted murder is worth it? You keep saying you’d take that chance versus the U.S. justice system, which is much friendlier than those in some countries he may head too. It’s going to be much worse for him WHEN he is back in the U.S. and in court. There is ZERO doubt he’ll be back here. Absolutely zero doubt, and it’s not going to help him that he fled the country.

I actually put the odds at 95% that he gets arrested overseas and either extradited back here or faces a lengthy sentence in whichever country he decides to act like an idiot in.
