My school apt building had a nerve to jack up prices this year :leostare: nikkas want $1100/month for a 2bd WITH A ROOMMATE :leostare:

Thinking about getting a place off-campus in Baltimore & catching the train to school/work (in DC). Is that feasible brehs? :yeshrug: I like The Wire but, I'm not about that life. What spots should I avoid? I seen some places in Mount Vernon & Bolton Hill that I liked. Google Earth can only help so much, I'm not tryna be living one block from those vacants :merchant: Help a nikka out breh :sadbron:

Mount Vernon is gay central on the weekends. Not sure if that bothers you or not, just a lil FYI.

This.

BUT, Mount Vernon is one of the NICEST areas in the city. My homie used to live out there in a two bedroom for $1100 a month. Then they pushed it to around $1300. It was one of the low-end apartments too. The shyt was still nice inside, tho.

Morgan State area is ok too, it's not really classy, or anything. Kind of bland apartments out there. You might catch small townhome that's up for rent for the college kids.

You're looking at around $600-$800 in rent if you move out here. shyt is nice (price wise), but nothing fancy.

If you looking for something like:

you won't find it for cheap. :pachaha:

Nah b.....I'm cool with a little studio or a one bedroom. I don't need much. I can do the hood. I grew up in Wilmington.

I was just wondering how hood we were talking :merchant:

Don't bother nobody & they wont bother you type neighborhoods or streets filled with burned down vacant houses type neighborhoods :merchant:

Maybe even make it 2 miles from Morgan, if you haven't already.

I''m not sure if you drive or take train to DC, but if you take the train (if you don't already know), try and find a place close to bus line, like I think the #4 bus route goes up and down Loch Raven Blvd (which is one block over from Morgan, and lots of apts on that road) goes to Penn Station and there is an express line #4 and few others that go to Penn Station (don't trust my bus number recall :snoop:).

True, the Alameda apts is your call OP....not awful, but has slight extra potential for :why:. Happy housing hunting. :boss:

I got a whip but, its a bucket :pachaha: That shyt will break down if i push it back & forth every day  So unless I plan on staying in DC real late, I'll be riding the Marc to and fro.

I'mma check out everywhere yall said though.

If you want to stay in places with no drama like that, Canton is a nice place to live..... Also, Federal Hill would be ideal and is on the southern end of the city towards DC, only thing is it gets crazy there on the weekend with drunk college, yuppie kids, but your young maybe you'll be up for that.. Fed Hill is pretty cheap too, very reasonable..... Like somebody else already said, Mount Vernon is nice too

nikka why not stay in between like in laurel or savage?

Savage aint too bad right? I think i saw some nice apartments.

You could just drive into dc or go to greenbelt or collage park and catch the metro.

you'd be off 95 and 20 mins from bmore :manny:

Think laurel 1bedroom like 900
