How do you deal with the anxiety as a survivor moving forward with the knowledge that you almost died & escaped death?

Being faced with the reality of your own mortality is very humbling.

I dont wanna die :to::snoop:

Dont mention therapy either :russ:

What happened?:lupe:

Blood clot.

Massive one.

Stressed out the right side of my heart and still suffer from shortness of breath to this day.

Its been like 6 months

I'm back healthy again, But that anxiety is a bytch tho.

Doctors dont even know what caused it so now I walk around feeling extremely humbled at how quick and random, death can be......

I think about death literally everyday randomly throughout the day

It aint healthy.

Besides that tho, life's great :mjcry:

Get informed about your issue, and practice meditation regularly for 5 minutes for anxiety and see a therapist. :yeshrug:

Not life-threatening, but I dealt with the possibility of losing my eyesight for about a year. But I had a surgery that saved my sight. My eyesight is extremely poor but at least I can still see.

Up until I found out about the surgery, I had accepted it and decided to learn how to do everything blind. Especially playing guitar and piano. And at night I wouldn't turn on any lights in the house. I figured as long as I could still hear and create music, I'd be alright.

When I was a kid I had a pretty traumatic experience where I almost drowned in the deep end of a swimming pool. I didn't have any more strength to keep holding my breath. Just when I was about to give in (I had mentally accepted death at this point) I got pulled out of the water. I breathed in a little water but not enough to hurt me. I appreciated life 1000x more after that incident :blessed:

But I still don't go swimming to this day :lupe:

Yeah a few times. I had an ischemic stroke in 2007 at the age of 17 and then a brain hemorrhage a year later. Shyt was extra crazy because I was trying to deal with senior year of HS and freshman year of college while dealing with all that. (I finished HS on time but had to take a break from college). Very eye opening experiences and it's a struggle still (having been so close to death and stuff), but I just take life one day at a time.

I had pneumonia 2x at 16, but being young u feel invincible. The 1st time I took forever to get to the dr cuz I didn't really feel sick, just had a persistent cough, and when I did she told me I coulda died had I waited a few more days. She put me on anitbiotics n I felt better, but it came back after a wk of finishing my meds. still bein hard headed I waited another like wk or 2 to get back to the dr and she was mad cuz I was really sick but was dikkin around. I think it didn't (then and now) register cuz I didn't feel on the brink of death, plus Im stubborn.

Bro these stories giving me second hand anxiety wtf.

But i've had two scary ass situations where I thought I was dead.
One time I had a massive irregular heartbeat situation. I wasn't taking care of myself and eventually I would just be sitting there and my heartbeat would be through the roof. Imagine running a mile and your heart rate is pumping. Now imagine that same heart rate just sitting down watching tv. I waited till the last minute to go to the hospital out of just hoping shyt would get better. I went to the hospital and like my heart went 10x crazier. They gave me some shots and eventually my heart rate slowed down but I felt num the rest of the night. Then they transferred me to another hospital and it took months of meds and losing weight plus not in taking caffeine to feel normal again.

Another situation is like at least once or twice a year I go through this but always forget because it feels legit.
I always have this weird feeling in my brain/head where it feels like there is pressure in the middle of my head as if im wearing a tight hat and super massive tense tightness around my entire head to the point im thinking im having a stroke or something. But every time I go to the hospital or some shyt they tell me I'm fine except for last time I had strep. But I believe its just anxiety. That anxiety feeling is real bros. And when it happens you don't know its happening because you think you dying instead of anxiety.

But typing this out made me realize I stress over bullshyt and need to stand around to smell the roses sometimes. And also my mom a g as fukk for always taking me to the hospital just being by my side. I love her man.

Got bit by a spider in my sleep about this time last year (February). About a inche under my nuts :dame: on the inside of my leg. The bite itself hurt so much it woke me up from my sleep, but I did not catch (or see the spider). I flew out to LA the next day thinking nothing of it. By the night time that next day, the inside of my leg was swollen bigger than a half a baseball (no exaggeration) and hurt whenever I would stay up straight (couldnt figure out why the sharp pain, think of someone stabbing you over and over and over and over). I was in LA 600 miles away from home, so nothing can really do, I leave on Sunday, no big deal right ?

I end up waking up on Monday, and now the sharp pain is bad no matter what. Before it was just standing up with the sharp pain, now just laying down which felt decent before was also the sharp pain. The swollen had gone down to about the size of a golf ball which was improvement to me Sunday night... but when I woke up Monday morning now the golf ball size bump on my leg is now green :damn:

I immediately go to my doctor and now the pain is getting worse.. my doctor pretty much cusses me out saying my leg is infected, talking amputation, etc... the sharp pain was the leg being infected and causing blood clots.

He ends up freezing the bump and numbing it with a shot but we was on short time, he had to cut my leg open and squeeze the infection out. Keep in mind im awake during all this cause of the timing. I doubt I will ever feel pain as bad as that again in my life.. not even sure its possible to feel that kinda pain again ..

The spider bite broke cartilage in my leg, was infected so bad we was exploring amputation options if the infection doesnt leave, and of course the main concern was the blood clots forming in my leg..

My leg was wrapped up for months and ended up blood clotting 2 months after in which we had to reopen the cut and drain my leg again  but since, havnt really got blood clots but theres a scar and my skin is now a different color in that area from the infection, bruising, etc.

a bytch ass spider really almost took me out :francis:

sleeping now is a bytch, if I feel anything crawling on me while trying to sleep, even if its just the fan on me or some shyt... sleep is pretty much out of the question the rest of the night due to paranoia :francis:

I check all my visible walls every night before I sleep to make sure I see no spiders at all in my place, ever :francis: same as above, if I just so happen to see a spider late at night, sleep for rest of the night is pretty much out of the question :francis:

fukk spiders :francis:
