i lived out there for a couple of months back in 2013
wasn't there long enough to get a feel for it

outside of the casino industry jobs are scarce from the people i know who moved out there...
north las vegas is ghetto, but paradise and henderson is cool... only good thing i love about vegas u can buy guns easy and no state tax

just really hot, but that don't matter because you're indoors most of the time.
Nevada is cool man, plus when you want to see your fam in cali its only an hour flight.

Theres a reason 44 million yearly visitors and only 400k people live there man, take note of that.. people wanna visit vegas, aint no one really tryna live in vegas.. the houses are big and beautiful AND CHEAP AND NO STATE TAX AND STILL NO ONE WANNA LIVE THERE
its the fukking desert.. literally.. Snakes, scorpions, big ass spiders, dry ass heat, cold ass winters, flash floods (shyt be pouring rain sometimes in July at 12 pm then by 3 pm be ready to hit the pool

if you got any vices like gambling, drugs or alcohol - I especially cant recommend it.. its only amplified out there..
the strip is cool, but its different if you live there and theres only so much shyt out of the strip, you'll miss LA within 3-6 months. Unless you got an actual career lined up out there, I cant recommend it.

If you dont get a job in a casino, it's not looking too bright for ya (casinos offer a lot of jobs though, not just gambling; finance, law, accounting, etc.)
Not a place I would move without a goal/vision or job lined up. If you going just to get away from LA you will be miserable quick. But if you go with the idea of stackin bread or getting a career then you're straight
I'm in LA now and there's things I miss about Vegas for sure, but idk if I'd ever move back

Cheap and affordable housing.
Lots of high paying service jobs that require no education. Not easy to get one though as they are highly sought after.
24 hour living.
Lots of good food
Diverse ethnic groups
Beautiful women
Concerts and performances every week somewhere
No state income tax and low Real estate tax
Cons:
No real culture. Just booze, gambling and bullshyt. Its gets old quickly. And it can be depressing
If you have kids the public school system here is one of the worst in the country.
If you lack self control, this place will destroy you. Ive seen several good people drown in this town.
Hard to keep in contact with people and form a clique. Everyone works different hours and has different days off. Good people are hard to come by as well.
Honestly this city is boring as hell. Like i said, no culture. I would much rather live in New York city or So Cal if it wasnt so expensive.
Unless you consider sports betting, poker, or nightclub life as fun culture. Because i dont
