Debt is in a sense a form of "slavery", while at times it is necessary to accomplish a goal, we often fall victim to it from the Consumer Culture in America.

Any bruhs pay off all of their debt recently or working to it? Whether it be a credit card, car, student loans, mortgage etc?

What strategy did you do? Any tips for others?

My goal is to be completely debt free (minus my mortgage, but want to have a huge chunk paid down) in <7 yrs.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The economy is based on debt. Even wealthy people have debt. Mortgage, car note, credit cards etc. Most people will always have some type of debt even if its short term. Even if you have the ability to pay cash for everything, the economic system requires you to take on some type of debt. Lack of revolving credit hurts credit scores.

I don't think its good to compare the wealthy to the common man...debt for them is a total different entity than it is to the common man.....

And as long as people have mortgages, the economy will adjust just fine...

Credit Card debt and Auto Loans can get the finger

of course, using credit is not the same as being a slave to debt though. I have debt (not an insane amount) and close to an 800 credit score. Heck your score actually drops when you first pay something off. The key is to use Credit to your advantage opposed to being a slave to it. Use credit to make money, so you dont risk your own liquid assets.

exactly. Once I pay my car off in about 2yrs I`m never getting another note again unless its some freak emergency. Only reason I got a car note is because my last car broke down and the cost to repair was worth more than the car, so I figured it would be best to get a newer car that would last me 15+ yrs, even then I got something I could afford.

:sas1:Instead of worrying about being "debt" free you should worry about increasing your net worth. Debt isn't a problem if you work in increasing assets while minimizing worthless debt :sas2:

Where did you read that at? And I think you're missing the point......

Also, re-read your post and ask yourself what would be the first step in increasing your net worth...
