Hoping this is the best forum, but I need to replace the stock system in a 2011 ford escape. I'm pretty open on budget which is why i don't want to roll into a car audio spot without some type of guidance...I'll buy more than what i need. I basically want some nice sounding speakers to make a one hour commute more enjoyable, i'd probably get what i'm looking for regarding sound from the upper middle range for speakers?? i know i don't need top of the line. i also want some tweeters installed, and would like to replace the built-in 8" sub which i know is hard - but I don't want a box or tube eating up space in the cargo area and i'm not trying to blast music up and down the street.

what brands do i need to look into? what's a typical budget for this (4 6x9's, 8" sub, tweeters)...

shyt you know a good bit about what you need, that should be enough.

I would buy the shyt online.... Crutchfeild.com is a great site and they will make sure everything fits. They should also be able to recommend you an installer. For the sub I would go JL Audio and for the speakers I would probably go Alpine. You should also look into getting an amp and a new headunit too. Those will really make it all sound good.

2 12" kickers and a pair of auto zone tweeters will make any commute enjoyable
