Thanks for reply.

Basically, I'm in the preparation stages and need to know the best way to go about it. Per some of the fact sheets online I've read, required competencies will include both hands-on and theoretical understanding in these areas:

  • Occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Braking Systems
  • Suspension Systems and Frames
  • Steering Systems
  • Engine Systems
  • Differentials, Drive shafts and Drive axle assemblies
  • Transmission Systems
  • Electrical Systems – Starting & Charging
  • Electrical Systems – Body
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air-conditioning Systems
  • Exhaust and Emission-control Systems
  • Tires, Wheels, Rims and Hubs
  • Body and Trim
Problem is, there're about a thousand different books covering these topics. So naturally I'm looking to narrow down my readings to a quick and effective preparation. I've also got a couple of the past-questions texts.

Any recommendations?

it goes without saying that you are going to want the most recent material because so many of the systems you mentioned are computerized today.
if i were you i would talk to the teacher for suggestions.

one thing you can take to the bank though is that you need to change the oil and maintain proper tire pressure.
