I just started getting into drinking coffee.

Like alot of ppl I see Starbucks everywhere and just figure they're the best because I don't know about the other options.

My cousin works for Starbucks and has for years so I've been trying to find out from him about good coffees to try or make on my own @ home. Surprinsgly, he told me Starbucks is not the best and to try Dunkin Donuts.

Which I did the other day and :wow:, their French Vanilla coffee is

i think I'm gonna buy some and try to replicate it at home.

Anybody else on here knowledgeable about coffee?

It's all the same to me, I just like hanging out in coffee shops. Hell, I don't even really like coffee or the other drinks most of these spots offer.

Drinkin a Kenya coffee right now......shyt is like a fine wine/tea.....very light berry flavors

Starbucks is over roasted charred garbage....too much of a burnt taste

Do yourself a favor and get freshly roasted whole bean (not grocery store cause u dont always know how long its been sitting there)

Go online to a roaster (literally a ton of them) and order a fresh # whole bean
Get a cheap hand burr grinderAmazon.com: Hario MSS-1B Mini Mill Slim Coffee Grinder: Kitchen & Dining

I usually mess with Terroir Select Coffees but just got a bag of Doug E Fresh but go to coffee review.com ....good resource

I'm guess im borderline snob but I dont like when people say "I dont like coffee I drink tea" Thats cause your drinkin shytty coffee that leaves a heavy burnt aftertaste in ur mouth. Fine Kenyan, Ethiopian coffees are very light if roasted properly but with pronounced favors and a smooth aftertaste. Very much like tea. I'm a tea snob as well.....whole leaf Darjeeling black tea for me

Ill drop more knowledge if u want but we'll see where this goes

Kopi Luwak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kopi luwak, or civet coffee, is one of the world's most expensive and low-production varieties of coffee. It is made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract. A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In the digestive tract, the civets' proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Passing through a civet's intestines the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape. After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee with much less bitterness.[citation needed] This coffee is widely noted as the most expensive coffee in the world with prices reaching $350 per kilogram ($160 per pound).

I havent had it but ive heard from people who have and they say that its overrated. Can get much much better quality at much lower $$
