Its one of my biggest fears in life and I hope I never get to experience it.
Almost happened to me once when I was 16, got into a fight with my folks and run away. It was only around 11:30pm that same day when I realised I was going to have to sleep on the streets that I run back home and apologised:russ:

Sleeping in my bed that night was the most satisfying shyt ever. :wow:

Anyway, back those who’ve genuinely experienced homelessness, how did it happen, what was your experience and how did you escape? I’m hoping this shyt never happens to me but just in case....

Slept about a week to 10 days on the street more than 10 years ago. Jobless after dui, on probation and fell out with some people I grew up with. Long overdue tho

Donated plasma and looked for work (to no avail). Kept it from PO. Took the bus around, light rail. Slept behind a wall in empty lot, a wall behind a laundry mat in an apt complex (which i Iater lived at 5 years later and I could see this area everyday from my window no bullshyt) and couple times at a bus stop near ASU.

Eventually met this Native lady who shared my interest in drinking and she let me stay with her a while. On my brothers advice, enrolled in junior college and applied for and received Pell Grant. Attended school and got work on campus for work study that eventually turned into full time that I worked through my Bachelor's program.

I guess you could say I was for like 7 months back in 2012.

Due to some bad choices that my Son’s father made, we were kicked out of our apartment. I was working a $8/hr job and couldn’t afford anything else. We slept in my car for a few nights while my son stayed with his God mother. I ended up sleeping on my friend’s couch for a few months with my son then we eventually moved into a hotel for a few weeks until that got too expensive. I spent another night in my car but ended up swallowing my pride because I refused to allow my son to have to live out of one. I cried like a baby and then called my Mom and Step Dad and asked them if I could go home to them. It’s probably the best decision I made in my entire adult life. :francis:
