I don't think we can put all the blame solely on the white man for the destruction of the planet. Animals get hunted and slaughtered all over the world and pollution is a global issue. As far as the industrial revolution and all that, who knows how much different the world would be if none of that happened. The reason why this all looks worse is due to greed. The need to control the waters and lands and exploit them for profit. These large companies that control everything and use the resources any way they please. There's really not much to stop it since the demanding society we live in has allowed this to happen. A growing population that needs to be fed is the reason for this mass production of goods.
