Damn near every college player that doesn't get drafted, but is almost good enough goes to one of these many obscure european countries and play professional Basketball.

What is the pay like?

The playing time?

The lifestyle?

There has to be some good stories somewhere.

Depends on the league and country. Some places just provide a place and pay your bills and dont give you a salary. Other places like top leagues you can make upwards of 500k. Most nice college players get a chance overseas but get the boot cuz they already have homegrown talent with better fundamentals. They usually look for players above 6'7 and that are athletic cuz they cant teach that.

My cousin played overseas for about 8 years, last 4 in Italy. They treat him like a GOD still to this day. They give you a house and a car as part of your contract.

Its good money if you are a first division player (EuroLeague etc)

Edit: And they have a limit to the number of foreigners (americans) they can have on their team, so if another player is available thats more high profile your ass gotta go.

Lower divisions seem to have problems paying their players on time and breaching on contracts, which is what happened my cousins first year out of college in Germany or France I think

Yeah, I would imagine the money would be good since most dude don't even try to go out for the NBDL

I didn't know they had a limit on American players though.

So a majority of the americans are paying in the lessor leagues?

Yeah the nbdl has it advantages cuz of the exposure you get. If youre a fringe nba player the d league is your best bet, you might not get 6 figures but youre an injury away from getting in the league.

D-League Salary is at max like 25.5k, so you can definitely make alot more guap going the overseas route if you can get on.

From how fam described it, the politics of the overseas game is kinda like getting in the music industry. You HAVE to trust somebody (an overseas agent), so sometimes you can get in situations that benefit the agent more than it would you. They sometimes promise teams your services and turn down other more lucrative offers because they have a relationship with that certain team. Or they talk down returning to the US (because they wouldnt get a cut of that money) or sign a new college player and get them to come in and take your spot if it nets them more money.

Alot of shady shyt.
