I feel like I need one but in UK you need a prescription and then a sleep study. None of its free on NHS so ends up being £££

Just going to find one on eBay (new :hhh:) or Amazon

I don’t have apnea as much as paralysis though. Hope it helps both

I forgot how much I paid for the sleep test but the CPAP machine costed over $2000 :wow: glad I have insurance that covered most of it

Yeah. Working nights in the past screwed up my sleep. Now I take a concoction of over the counter medicine to sleep. Or weed. It might help if I could pry myself away from the screen. Im sure that contributes.

:mjcry: Yes and I’m not close to being overweight. Found out during a sleep study a year or 2 ago because I was excessively tired but metabolic panel came back great. Turns out I had mild sleep apnea this whole time.

:wow: I love my machine now.

I was just diagnosed with Sleep apnea in Dec after 2 sleep studies at Duke's Millennium Hotel.. I got a CPAP machine paid for by insurance but these nikkas got so many requirements, I have to use the machine 70% of the time and for a minimum of 4 hours a night.

First, I'm a mouth breather so the nasal mask they gave me kept me up at night. Then I asked for a full face mask and they said I needed to get a prescription from my doctor just to change my mask. Now they sending me warning letters about how I am not meeting the requirements followed by last week saying I wasn't using enough and I have to return my Cpap machine or be charged the full retail price of it.

I did Google shopping for the model I am using ResMed AirSense 10 and they run between 600-1000 depending on where you shop and half the places I saaw don't require a perscription. I almost purchased one last week for 600 refurbished.

I would honestly just purchase my own to use at will versus having to worry about meeting insurance's quota.

I had it and lost weight. I no longer need the machine. As I lost weight the settings got too powerful.

My sleep Apnea wouldn't allow me to go to sleep. I guess my body was scared I wouldn't awaken. I went to the hospital and they put me on a machine. I slept almost a week and don't remember nothing much for that time. They gave me the sleep study there.

I didn't sleep for like a month before that.

Yes and it has nothing to do with my weight. I always snored heavy, so much so that every woman that shared a bed with me always messed with me about it:russ: I went to the ENT for a sleep study and the times I stoped breathing nightly were horrible.Apparently it has something to do with the shape and size of the roof of my mouth:dame: I love my cpap, if I don’t wear it the next day I feel stuck in the mud . I’m looking into the inspire implant that would negate the use of the traditional cpapInspire ™ Sleep Apnea Therapy |
A lot of folks with brain fog who think they have ADHD just have sleep apnea and another benefit for the fellas is the cpap machine makes your erections a lot better :jawalrus:

My dad had this shyt when he was younger.
You will notice three common denominator when someone meet this phenomenon

1) You're either overweight, which makes your neck too large and the byproduct is narrowing your airways due to your soft tissues
2) Genetics (sadly :mjcry:)

3) Your Upper jaw is probably narrow too, your palate is too short and narrow and you have no place to rest your tongue, which blocks your airways. It's also genetics technically, the only way to fix that shyt is with surgery or orthodontics procedure.

For those in the thread using a cpap, have you ever looked into seeing an orofacial myofunctional therapist? As said above, your tongue likely has no place to rest. There are things that can be done to eliminate the cause, and not just the symptoms like the cpap does

shyt several of my co-workers use one and pretty much all my female coworkers husband have one, needless to say they're all :flabbynsick:. They could do something about it but they choose not to, shyt the majority of them co-workers and female coworkers husbands have the shyt but don't use it.

I'm not going to hijack the thread just don't take your health forgranted. I couldn't run for about a week and was on the verge of :sadbron: but I'm back and Im not going to overlook one second.
