Any of y'all ever get a Life Alert type thing for your mother?

This is something I wish my dad had done for my grandma. She lived alone and had a stroke and was lying on the ground conscious but unable to get to the phone for several hours until a neighbor happened to stop by and called an ambulance. She could have had a lot less damage if she had just had something like this where she could have just pressed a button around her necklace or something.

I would definitely look into getting one for elderly relatives if you can.

I was thinking about this today.

Another thing is, even though my mother isn't in the most dangerous neighborhood, there is a lock on her door that would be extremely hard for firefighters or EMS to bust through. If she were to press that button during the daytime, it would probably be fine, but when that lock goes on at night, it would be extra hard to get through into the apartment.

They can get in. Firefighters have forcible entry demonstration videos on youtube where they show you how they ax out heavy duty door locks. Here's an old one....
