I wouldn’t consider Brand New “punk rock” well maybe their first album but more like “indie/alternative”. I guess I’m just thinking about their last album Science Fiction which to me is a masterpiece and the last great American rock album and that album definitely ain’t punk.

Nfg has roots in the hardcore scene. They’re good for pop punk. Old Against Me will always be a favorite of mine. Of course Bad Brains and all the hardcore from that era are great.
