Every so often I read on here that someone used to be homeless. I'm not sure if y'all are in LA or not. Anyway, any of you ever sleep in/at/on skid row? Also, there's like a couple of them in LA, right? How was it?

I'll be in LA next month and was thinking about going to Skid Row OP. Now you've motivated me to do it!

I think I'll go by one evening by myself and pass out a few dollas to our brothas who are down bad and just need a blessing. I may even budget a little more so I can give $20 to a few lucky neighbors in need.

I will also take a few bags of groceries and peacefully give out food that I'm sure they desperately need. It's gonna be a special visit, I can already feel it.

Don't go out there and end up food. Its a pretty friendly place compared to something like the Tenderloin in San Fran but you likely to get your chain snatched around this time if you don't go with a purpose. I've never spent the night there but I have walked and talked to the residents back in my Salvation Army days. Lotta them used to be ballers and upper middle class but succumb to gambling or drugs.

Place is not a tourist attraction. Work around the area and it's hard to look at given the empty buildings that can be renovated to keep them off the streets. Consistent manpower and investment can have some of those places repurposed and operational this time next year if the right contracts and deals are made. Rehabilitating the people and developing their human capital is possible, the new Mayor has options. She may put together a band-aid program though.

You on hard times OP?
I'm in NYC, but I did walk by one of the skid rows once at night when I took the Megabus from Las Vegas to Downtown LA. It did look like a zombie land. In the documentaries though, it always seems so "populated", so I thought that'll make it less dangerous.

I know most of y'all are 6 cert gang here, but some of y'all probably been through tough times before.
