I recommend asus or lenovo for dependability

You can probably get away with a $400 laptop for that if you want an SSD.

Whatever you do, try to get an SSD in there. Even if you decide to go budget, the SSD is essential with Windows 10 IMO.

Last year yeah. Hp envy touchsmart 15 inch refurbished. Regular price was like $1200 and since it was refurbished I got it for $699

Absolutely unequivocally this.

My Lenovo laptop ran fine with windows 8.1 and an SSD Hybrid drive.
With Windows 10, that shyt crawls like a motherfukker. Now I have to swap it out for a real SSD.
