shyt is stressing my moms out. He’s always been functional, but now that he’s retired and in his last years, it’s gone to an extreme that makes me want to smack him up and ask him what the fukk he’s doing. The anniversary of my aunt’s death is coming up, which he cites as the reason for his abuse of liquor, but I don’t accept that excuse. The amount of alcohol he consumes daily, drinking from morning until he passes out, is making him seem demented. It’s exhausting. :snoop:

I don't but if you love your father (and mother for that matter) you should confront him.

You have to give addicts an ultimatum.

Nah but my dad used to smoke alot of weed and it was so embarrassing. It made me lose some respect for him when I was younger. He used to talk to me kind of rough and one day I ended up slapping the fukk out of him and grabbing him by the neck in the middle of the mall.

After that episode we started attending counseling together and I told him that I was uncomfortable with him smoking weed all the time and we discussed other sh1t. After that I never seen him smoke again. Addiction is tough on the family...

Mines was an alcoholic. nikka get drunk and start acting a damn fool. This one time, he started to assault my cousin while under the influence of alcohol and his sister thought that he was playing. And it doesn't even help the fact that he was an epileptic, having random seizures and be on the road and getting into accidents and shyt. He actually slowed down drinking before he passed away. That's why I left the alcohol alone because I felt like I was on the path to becoming another him.

Confronted him more times than I can count, wach time being met with recriminatory claims of being the man of the house and not deaerving the charge of being a drunk.

“This is my house!”

“I’m a grown man!”

“ I don’t even drink that much!”

I just wish I could recognize the man who raised me before he’s gone. At this point, I feel like he’s a stranger. :mjcry:

Anybody who's said this knows damn well themselves they drink too much.
Hope he can redeem himself for your sake. The lasting impressions of him if he doesn't will leave some serious resentments.

I'm kinda going through something similar. When I was little he wasn't but now he has a drinking problem. I confronted him about it and cussed him out for all the other bullshyt he's been on lately. He denied it of course and told me I don't know what I'm talking about.:stopitslime:

Been some months since and still no improvement.:francis:
