I just started going back regularly and shyt....cause my fam and all my nikkas still there. I went to a little house party that turned into a fight , free for all brawl and shooting (no one got hit)

Like I've been kinda distant ever since college but I love my nikkas forreal forreal and I be wanting to hang with them but I can't with da drama.

Out of my old crew...only like 3 of us are completely removed from da hood life

every weekend. my mother and mother in law still there on the same block. my grandparents on the next one over. my other grandparents about half a mile or so away.

Everybody goes through this. Eventually ull stop hitting up ur old boys at all. shyt changes man, you'll feel like a sell out at some point but i advise you to listen to j cole home for the holidays and 03 adolescence. he approaches the subject

Shyt, my old hood is being gentrified equipped with cacs freely walking dogs while on the phone not giving 1 fukk.

Damn near every day. I do a lot of volunteer work, visit my family, and go to church there. I try my best to be a positive male role model in my community. There are a lot of wanna be hard nikkas in the Bronx and a lot of kids aspire to be that. Then a lot of girls also think that the hyper-masculine petty drug dealers represents success & masculinity. I try my best to break those stereotypes and teach them important things they dont learn in school like financial literacy, critical thinking, alternative pathways to success, and life lessons in general. I like to think that I'm making a difference

i live in Philly so even if you live in a decent or "nice" neighborhood u almost always have to pass by a hood cause the nice spots or in patches .....so yea where i live now is semi-hood but if i go down like 8-10 blocks its HOOD

All my childhood friends are dead or in prison because they never left the hood

But even though the neighborhood I was raised in is a war zone

I feel very comfortable and at home there

I have a lot of memories
