Any Self Barbers On Here?

I've been cutting my hair for a while, and I've gotten pretty decent at it. Today I gave myself a temp fade and it looked pretty decent. Then I decided to add a part to it, and it all went downhill from there

I realized I had screwed up as soon as I put the initial line in, so I tried to fix it. Then I just kept making it worse and worse

Finally I reached the point where the only logical thing to do was scalp myself. I'm not even mad that I had to cut all my hair off, I'm mad because nobody's going to ever see that temp fade I gave myself. It looked good too. Anybody else have a story of screwing up their hair like this?

The very first time I tried to cut my hair, I kept messing up the line on the back of my neck & cutting off more trying to fix it. By time i was done, my line was a good inch up from where it shoulda been

I do self shaves too occasionally but I avoid styling it like fades, high fades, etc for this very reason. I try and keep it as simple as possible or style it if I truly don't give a fukk that day and want to try something new.

I do. A simple even ceasar and line up. No fades or razor sharp edges

Been cutting on my own hair for going on 7 years. I just do the even low-cut. Never tried to do a fade, that would be a disaster.

Been cutting my own hair for well over 10yrs, I was using Shick Tracers at first with shaving cream giving myself the bald clean look. After awhile bought some actual clippers, I keep it simple though.
