I used to be a manager at my old job. You do not let it slide, but you warn them gracefully (you are in control, and must remain in control)

Tell em what's up, let em know why it's not acceptable, and give em strategies for improving their performance. Document it as well. If they continue to fukk up, you go back to the documentation and put em on probation and then eventually fire then if the don't wise up

Just let them know straight up....I got a bunch of employees like that breh

all depends on what kind of feedback they respond the best too.

That's the thing. Been cool, letting shyt slide. I had a bigger project taken up my time but now that the projects are complete, I can focus on these fukknutts. I saw she was tryna to get over. I had to set that bytch straight. A nikka felt his eyes filling with blood as I spoke.

Bytch 10 years older than me too. You should what's right and wrong.

you need to know the personalities of your individual employees and depending on that you have to gauge your response

you have to let them know immediately that they are doing things not up to standard, set a precedent for this and they will respect you for it rather then keep trying to walk over you

i'm 23 and in a management role and all of my employees are older then me. i've been learning countless things in the 6 months i've been on the job here

This right here is why I felt I could raise (just a little) and get shyt right because I got tons of shyt on them. And this is my repayment for not implementing your past transgressions?:what:

Always go back to the documentation. If this isn't their first time, it's time for that probation

Always be respectful though. ALWAYS!

if it's a new person, you focus on the training and just be helpful

since this sounds like a veteran, the first step is to say it once so they know that you see what they are doing
now since you let it slide for a while, i'd do three unofficial chances (small talks) to show you are serious (one is too easy to blow off)

then i would start the official procedure to do formal verbal or written coachings

this is my opinion only
normally i wouldn't mess with a bunch of extra pre-warnings, but when you are slack for a while it takes more than once to tighten everything back up

best to not do it while your mad. email them what you have to say to them so you can have a paper trail, and when you confront her face to face, only talk about what was said in that email. sad to say that as black men, its hard to toe that line between telling someone what they need to hear, and coming off as threatening. thankfully all my supervisees are younger than me, so its easier to have lenience.
