anybody been to Mexico City before?

I have vacation time in August, a week's worth so I wanna go there. Any tips or advice?

If you can, go to nearby Puebla for a day or so. Its a fairly lowkey city, but there's a lot of subtle things that make the culture and history of that city that much more memorable. Also, lucha libre every Monday, and every time I went, it was hella full in there. Fun times.

What's lucha libre? Also I don't speak Spanish, do people know English over there enough for me to be good?

I'm not sure about Mexico City, but if Puebla is any indication, you're probably going to have a bit of a hard time if you don't know Spanish. I know Spanish fluently, so I never tried, but you should be able to at least find a student that knows English of you try long enough. Still, id definitely advise to at least try to learn some basic Spanish phrases.

Also lucha libre is wrestling lol. Trust that it ain't as lame as it sounds though, its pretty celebrated in mexico.

go to any overcrowded enclave of Los Angeles, hell anywhere in California - you'll get a mouthful of "Mexico."
