I am going to be starting a YT channel that uses cartoon animations.

Example would be something like this

Now the art work here looks like it took a lot of time and effort to put together. I was thinking more of sketch art and something less fancy. I am a decent drawer but my skills cannot be compared to the video above.

Am I better off paying a cartoon animator to putting something like this together? If I can become good on my own what software and specific skillsets do I need? How difficult is it to put something like this together?

Animation is much more than just good drawing breh. It has its own set of principles and is basically its own artform. Whether you want to do it yourself versus getting an animator would depend on the scope of what you are trying to do and how time you want to spend

I don't know much about 2D animation software (I'm learning 3D) but from what I understand, the mostly use toon boom in the west (cartoons) and RETAS for animation in the east (like anime)

my girl does this for a living, worked on a few shows.

its a lot more technical then you think.

my sister graduated a few years ago with an art degree. She likes to draw cartoons. Can you give some advice on how to get your foot in the door? I think one of the main problems is that she lives in Delaware. I would think you need to live in a big city to make moves.
