How was it? Any tips for a brutha just getn in the biz? ( I just got my CDL and is training with a trainer). My plan is to do 1 year OTR then hopefully go local

CR England is the company I'm withI was thinking about it with a company called C.R. England but i'm hearing the pay is cheap and the hours are long and if u want a personal life and have family it's a bad thing to get into
go look at INDEED.COM and reviews on trucking companies like the one i mention

We'll for me training has been HORRIBLE (I guess it depends on your trainer) I've been thru school and over 1 month with a trainer and I still can't back to a dock or parking space
That's the company I started with. The school and the training up there is good. No matter what, don't let them nikkas talk you into leasing a truck. They got a 98% turn over rate. You'll be better off doing Relief and Recovery. That's where you just get free plane tickets to go across the country and repo everybody else's truck.
I started off with them and left after 3 months.
. Most of the trainers are in it strictly for the extra money and could care less about training someone properly. I barely backed my entire month and we barely went over trip planning or weight restrictions and how to adjust the tandems. I still don't even know how to put tire chains on
. I'm learning now that most of these companies get a certain amount of money for each student that comes thru and will teach ya just enough to pass the CDL test and the rest you will have to learn on your own. Who did you go to after your 3 months and did they come after you for their money for training you.? I'm thinking bout leaving myself. I'm looking at Schneider because I wanna learn tanker and flatbedYou rite bruh. All I want is good training and experience. The money will come later. I moved out my apt so I don't have any bills except phone and food while I'm on the roadFor the first year the money won't be worth it. First year, you gotta pay dues and get some experience under your belt.
Most of the good paying local jobs require at least 1 year of cross country driving.my brother's buddy, who was our neighbor growing up drives locally and is living decent. I mean he got a place to live and can take care of his seed. does driving across the country pay more tho?
