My grandparents were from Valdosta Georgia. They brought that tradition to Jersey City NJ and every summer my sister and I hung in Jersey City and learned what boiled peanuts were and why they were so damn good! Grandparents ALWAYS had a pot of them going or in the fridge, full of them.

Whenever we go down to GA my folks always get several bags and bring them up here to MD and they cook em up. My sister just made some two weeks ago, whole family pulled up and ate peanuts ! Can’t just be boiling any old peanut, only the green ones lmbo
